And more news!

And yet more news! It just keeps happening here in Stroud! With the opening of a new community craft centre in Lansdown, I’ll once again be offering kids (and teen/adult too of course) home-ed classes! At the moment the centre is being kitted out with all of the equipment and materials needed for a fully functioning teaching, workshop and studio space, accommodating ceramics, textiles, willow, a forge, a mask maker, jewellers and many more. The outside space will be developed (already a beautiful garden) to accommodate outside kilns, work spaces and the forge. My terms will be starting on a Friday, 4-5.30pm (spring start date tbc) so contact me if you’re interested for more details. Dawn, another wonderful pottery teacher will be offering kids classes earlier in the day on Fridays too, so you can pick you slot.

The terms will be around 10 weeks and provide the basics of working with clay, starting of with digging your own clay and cleaning it up to be used. We’ll make some collaborative work, some individual work, some sculptures and some functional pottery. Here are some images looking back on previous home-ed courses I’ve run in this wonderful space:

  1. Hi Emily

I would be very interested in the Friday afternoon sessions for Alex and Miranda! When you have the exact dates, could you please let me know. Our work requires going away on Friday evenings sometimes so I would need to check that there are no or few clashes with our schedule.

Great to hear this is starting up again!!

    1. Hi Ness, brilliant! I think the info will be posted to the Glos home-ed network, but i will be in touch when i know start dates and term dates etc. Would be so happy to have Alex and Miranda back in the group, do tell them! X
