The exceptionally well equipped craft room at Stroud College is an excellent venue for the adult ceramic sculpture courses that Emily runs on a termly basis. The course is aimed at people with a good grounding in either ceramics or sculpture and provides a loose structure in which students can either follow a set theme or develop their own personal practice. Each term has a theme and throughout the course this theme will be explored though short presentations of artists work and discussions of theory relating to the theme. The course provides excellent material and technical support but also crits, theory and art history for those students who wish to pursue the conceptual side of their work. Each year the students take part in the end of term show at the college and there is also often the chance to exhibit in a local gallery as part of the course.

Courses are 10 weeks long, 3 hours per week. Days and times can vary, please contact Emily for more details.

  1. The drawing workshops look great fun! Som of us need this playful approach to liberate our creativity.
Hope you do more of these for adults. I’d like to come.
